Introduction to West Oz Wildlife

Here at West Oz Wildlife we are so passionate about wildlife education and conservation and have had the privilege of running our wildlife educational programs in schools around Perth for many years now.

We believe that giving children an up-close experience with our amazing native animals will have a positive impact on the future of our environment. Our goal is to raise enthusiasm and awareness around the environment, conservation and our precious endangered species; the little minds we inspire today, could spark the solutions for the future.

We bring a range of different Australian animals. These animals may include a Koala, Dingo, Pythons, Lizards, Kangaroo joey and more.

Our experienced staff offer animal-based activities that range from observation, animal care and safe animal handling to facts about each species and the ecosystem in which they live. Such things include: habitat, diet, behaviours, adaptations to survive in the wild, interesting features and a snake safety demonstration showing what to do if you see a snake in the wild. All students will get the opportunity to get up close and personal with all the wildlife, touch all the animals and can hold the reptiles if they wish.

Our keepers are always with the animals throughout the display and all hold a current WA Working with Children Check. We have an educational wildlife display license from DBCA and would never compromise the health, welfare or safety of our animals. We follow the Australian ‘Animals in Schools’ Policy and the WA Environmental and Health guidelines for Petting Zoos with public.

Thank you for supporting our amazing native wildlife and we hope your children love this hands-on experience. Please like us on Facebook to follow our West Oz Wildlife Family.

Meet Beth

“Being a mother of 3 young children myself, i believe that  educating children, whilst also allowing them to see our wildlife up close in a safe environment, will not only help bring a better understanding of our Australian Wildlife, but will give them such an amazing experience that will encourage them want to learn more, and have a passion to save them in the wild in the future.

My hope is to encourage children to LOVE, RESPECT, and want to CONSERVE them, and their environment.”

Meet Kendall

“Being around an animal does something to you. For me it’s an incredible experience and feeling that I love to share with others; an encounter, makes your heart full, it makes you smile, it excites you, it calms and centres you. It is a privilege and joy to be able to share our amazing Australian animals with so many people of all different nationalities, ages and abilities and help them to have a life changing experience as well.”

Meet Laura

“From such a young age I have had a love and passion for our Australian wildlife, and that is because of the up close and personal encounters I have had , and what others have shared with me about these amazing animals.

It is now a privilege to be able to be a part of something that gives the same great opportunity to others.”
